GBEMI AWONUSONU
Gbemi Awonusonu is a freshman at the University of Florida! During the 2021 application cycle, Gbemi got into UF with Benacquisto Scholarship, Princeton University’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, UPenn with an invitation to the Benjamin Franklin Scholars Program, Cornell with Likely Letter, Duke with Likely Letter, Wash U, the Oxford College of Emory, Emory University, Swarthmore, Rice with University Scholarship, UCLA, USC, Case Western with University Scholarship, and UCF. She is a self-ascribed bookworm and would do anything for a good novel. In addition to being the treasurer of the STEP-UP Club during high school, Gbemi was the co-captain of the Public Forum Debate team for two years. She was also the president of NHS, a club dedicated to helping different communities across the globe. An avid learner, Gbemi, believes education and activism are powerful tools in solving social ills. She wants to help other students fall in love with education and hopes to help each student discover what subjects or activities excites them. In her free time, she is most likely hanging out with friends and family, reading, baking, or biking. She is excited to help you through your college application process and looks forward to reading and revising your essays.
SIONIKA THAYAGABALU
Sionika Thayagabalu is a freshman at the University of Florida! During the 2021 application cycle, Sionika got into UF with Benacquisto Scholarship, Princeton’s College of Engineering, Cornell, Vanderbilt's College of Arts and Sciences, Boston University with the Trustee Full Tuition Scholarship, UNC, the Oxford College of Emory, Berkeley, UCLA, USF, UCF, and the University of Miami. During high school, she served as the president of the STEP-UP Club, an organization which serves to help students achieve academic success and meet graduation requirements. She also was involved in the National Honor Society, in which she planned volunteer events and drives for the 300+ members at her high school. Outside of school, she is a part of Women Empowering Women Inc., an organization aiming to provide the support necessary for women of all socio-economic classes to unlock their full potential. A believer in social justice, Sionika will be a part of the TED team in college, where she will work to form partnerships with local companies in financing the sharing of valuable ideas through TED Talks. Her interests lie in the sciences and gender equity. Sionika is also a dancer and loves to go on biking excursions. She looks forward to assisting you through the college admissions process.
